Opti-Crop is a division within Miles Enterprises that is specifically involved in crop consulting. Our agronomic specialists advise clients in the production of wheat, corn and soybeans. Our services to the grower on contracted acres include but are not limited to: variety selection, fertility recommendations, GPS soil sampling, variable rate application with Soilection and VRT lime equipment, planter calibration, field scouting, break even analysis, harvest summaries, Infra red imaging, yield mapping and field research to determine economic viability of inputs. Our aggressive and technical services have helped double the Kentucky state wheat yield over the past decade, while the yields in states such as Kansas and Nebraska have remained stagnant.

We are currently seeking dedicated and hard working individuals to work within our Opti-Crop team. The most suitable applicant will have a practical farm background coupled to a solid agronomic education, or good experience in the agricultural consulting industry. The individual also should have excellent communication skills, sales skills, plus strong leadership ability and enthusiasm. We look for highly motivated individuals coupled to strong work ethic to succeed in a fast paced, self directed work environment. Ideally the individual will be very mechanically inclined, as many of the daily functions will involve calibration, set up, or sometimes operation of VRT equipment, air seeders, corn planters etc. Someone that is willing to travel anywhere in the world for 1-3 weeks or more at a time will be beneficial, sometimes at short notice. Finally, we look for someone with strong interest in Precision Agriculture, this will involve working with computers, GIS systems, site specific soil sampling, installation of yield monitoring equipment, GPS guidance systems etc.

Technical training will be provided if the individual is strongly motivated to work in this dynamic industry. Opportunities also exist for overseas travel. We are currently engaged in crop management consulting in Russia, in addition to various employee exchange programs with companies in New Zealand and Australia.
